India realizará pruebas en España para el proyecto del submarino P-75 India a finales de junio, según ha informado Navantia a través de la agencia asiática de noticias ANI. La empresa española afirma asimismo que España está dispuesta a respaldar plenamente un acuerdo similar al Airbus C-295. La propia empresa española ha colgado en sus redes sociales la información de la citada agencia. El programa está valorado en más de 4.800 millones de euros, y le seguirá un contrato de mantenimiento del ciclo de vida de 30 años por un valor similar.

El presidente de Navantia, Ricardo Domínguez, anuncia que las primeras pruebas tendrán lugar en el astillero de Cartagena la última semana de junio, y durante las mismas se mostrará la tecnología AIP a la Armada india. El AIP, también llamado BEST (Bioethanol Stealth Technology), es una de las características claves del submarino S-80. El sistema AIP permite reformar el bioetanol, evitando así la necesidad de tener hidrógeno a bordo. La principal ventaja es una gran autonomía independiente de la atmósfera de hasta tres semanas, lo que aumenta notablemente su carácter sigiloso.

"Lockheed Martin and Navantia Sistemas have revealed that the AN/SPY-7(V)2 solid-state S-band radar selected to equip the Spanish Navy’s new F-110 Bonifaz class frigates has gone through its Critical Design Review (CDR) milestone and transitioned into its production phase."

Meanwhile, a SPY-7 engineering development model (EDM) is shortly to begin testing at Lockheed Martin Rotary & Mission Systems’ Moorestown facility in New Jersey as part of an integration and test facility for the F-110 combat system core.

Navantia Sistemas has assumed the role of combat system design agent for the F-110 program, and is providing the indigenous Sistema de Combate de los Buques de la Armada (SCOMBA) combat management system (CMS). SCOMBA will integrate with the AN/SPY-7(V)2 radar and the International Aegis Fire Control Loop (IAFCL) being supplied by Lockheed Martin under a US government Foreign Military Sales contract.

The EDM, which completed production at the end of 2023, is currently going through near-field testing. This demonstrator system is planned to start live tracking events later this year as part of the Aegis-SCOMBA Integration Center (ASIC) already established at Moorestown, said Koch. “This where we are bringing together the SCOMBA [CMS] along with the Aegis weapon system [and] the SPY-7 radar. So we will be able to test that end-to-end combat system capability,”

According to Cristina Abad, director of Navantia Sistemas number of combat system integration test events have already been held at the ASIC facility to demonstrated that SCOMBA and IAFCL can exchange tracks. “The next steps,” she said, “are to install in 2025 the Aegis tactical programs in Navantia Sistemas’ land-based test site in Spain to perform integration testing of both the Aegis and SCOMBA systems.”

Koch added: “This [integration] is something of a novel concept [as] it’s actually the first time that Lockheed Martin is not the combat system engineering agent for an Aegis weapon system,” Koch explained. “Navantia Sistemas has that role, and SCOMBA is the lead combat system here…the concept of the International Aegis Fire Control Loop allows us to encapsulate the Aegis weapon system and interface with an international combat management system.“

The first AN/SPY-7(V)2 coming into Spain will arrive in 2026 to equip the Spanish Navy’s Centro de Integración de Sistemas en Tierra (CIST) land-based test facility in Rota. The system delivered to the CIST will be integrated into a sensor mast structure representative of that to be fitted to the F-110 frigates. “This will allow integration and testing to be performed for the SPY-7 radar in a coastal/maritime environment together with the other radars and sensors that will equip the ship,” said Abad.

Porque lo que seguramente conseguiras es un misil de un alcance importante... pero un alcance al que la unidad que lanza es imposible que detecte un submarino sumergido!

Aparentemente es un sistema que está pensado para operar con drones que puedan plantar sonoboyas pero no portar torpedos, como por ejemplo el Sea Guardian. Como ejemplo tienes este ejercicio, en el que las sonoboyas las plantan los helicópteros, después un MQ-9B las monitorea y el ataque lo realizan otros helicópteros. Con el sistema que plantean los británicos todo esto se simplifica y el ataque, siempre que estea en el rango del ASROC, se hace más rápido e independientemente de cual sea la meteorología o la disponibilidad del helo. In the case of the recent exercise, helicopter crews flew out from San Diego, dropped their sonobuoys, and then SeaGuardian took over monitoring them. The sensors detected a simulated submarine. This meant other helicopters could deploy with precise data about the target’s location and course and then attack – in this case, dropping simulated torpedoes that sank the submarine for the purposes of the exercise.

"El Centro Logístico de Armamento y Experimentación (CLAEX), junto con el apoyo del Ala 14 y la participación del Ala 11, ha marcado un nuevo hito en la historia del Ejército del Aire y del Espacio. El acontecimiento consiste en el lanzamiento de los 3 primeros misiles METEOR telemétricos y 1 misil AIM-120B operacional.

Este ejercicio se ha desarrollado dentro del primer ciclo de modificación de software de la flota de C.16 Eurofighter, consiguiendo así nuevas capacidades para el misil METEOR, el cual se ha actualizado a la versión Spiral Development 1, y se ha ejecutado con el procesador del radar TSP v6.2.

La operación llevada a cabo entre los días 22 de Mayo y 7 de Junio en la base aérea de Lossiemouth de la Royal Air Force (RAF) y el campo de tiro de Hébridas del Ministerio de Defensa de Reino Unido, ha contado también con actores externos como la empresa MBDA, quien ha contribuido en la formación del personal y en la validación de los perfiles de lanzamiento.

La campaña ha sido realizada por tres aeronaves C.16 instrumentadas que, junto con la capacidad de telemetría tanto en los misiles METEOR TOMs como en el range de Hébridas, han permitido hacer un seguimiento exhaustivo de cada lanzamiento. Además, como objetivos se han utilizado drones tipo Firejet, Banshee y Mirach.

Por otro lado, las diferentes actividades sufrieron diversos contratiempos como la aparición de tareas de mantenimiento adicionales, la compleja coordinación entre el Servicio de Búsqueda y Salvamento Aéreo (SAR) con la patrulla marítima de la zona, o la meteorología desfavorable predominante en los campos de operación y lanzamiento.

No obstante, la profesionalidad y compromiso del personal participante han permitido culminar con éxito esta hazaña, obteniendo, de esta manera, unos resultados que reafirman la fiabilidad y la letalidad de un armamento que aumenta enormemente las capacidades tradicionales en combate Aire-Aire del Ejército del Aire y del Espacio.
