Cuando ambos buques estaban desplegados en Baréin desde el año pasado para reemplazar a un grupo de cazaminas de la clase Avenger, ahora dados de baja.

En esta guerra que libran USA e Israel contra Irán, la cantidad de municiones de las que disponen ambos bandos es, sin duda, el secreto mejor guardado. Esta información, de gran sensibilidad, constituye la base de las estrategias de los adversarios, ya que sus objetivos militares y políticos están parcialmente condicionados por los parámetros de esta ecuación: tras dos semanas de ataques, ¿cuántos misiles y drones le quedan a Irán para atacar a sus adversarios? Y, a la inversa, ¿cuánto tiempo podrán defenderse los estados del Golfo e Israel?
Es que antes de comenzar la ofensiva, las fuerzas armadas habían empezado a evaluar sus recursos, preocupadas por una guerra prolongada que agotaría las reservas de interceptores, ya mermadas por ataques iraníes anteriores. Tras la Guerra de los Doce Días de junio de 2025, las reservas de misiles Arrow, que permiten a los israelíes interceptar misiles balísticos de gran altitud, se redujeron significativamente, según varias fuentes militares. Y ninguna operación podría haberse lanzado antes de la llegada de los refuerzos estadounidenses, con el suministro de sistemas de defensa y municiones, tanto para proteger a Israel como a los socios.
Parece que no tomaron apuntes del desgaste del material y el impresionante gasto de consumibles de la guerra de Ucrania.

As reported by the Italian Defence magazine in an article, from the analysis of satellite images it is possible to confirm that in the previous strikes the Italian part of the base was hit, with serious damage to the accommodation area, and also the hangars where the Air Force's 4 Eurofighter TYPHOONs are usually deployed (a marquee and two hangars were damaged). In previous strikes, the Kuwaiti part of the base was also targeted, where two buildings and two hangars (where the Kuwait Air Force's Eurofighter Typhoons are usually deployed) were damaged. Further impacts are also visible in other areas of the base, with several hangars damaged. All in all, Rid again explains, there should be around 20 confirmed strikes on Ali al Salem from 28 February to date.
