Shell Shock Technologies has commercially released its .338 Lapua NAS3 cartridge cases, extending the company’s two-piece NAS3 technology into one of the most demanding long-range calibers on the market.The cases are available now direct from the manufacturer in quantities ranging from 250 to 5,000.The NAS3 design pairs a corrosion-resistant nickel-alloy body with an ultra-durable stainless-steel head.According to the company, the result is a case that is roughly 30 percent lighter than traditional brass while offering about 11 percent more internal capacity.

Hemos pasado de que el futuro fuera la vaina de plástico o el cartucho CT pq ahorraba peso al combatiente, a diseñar una vaina de acero que tiene que pesar como un muerto en comparación con la de latón.
No tengo muy claro que esa sea la innovación buena. -
Todo lo leido sobre esta tecnología son parabienes, excepto el coste superior por cartucho.
Si permite armas mas cortas y mas potentes con superior alcance, menor caida del proyectil y mejor precisión bienvenidas. -
Y en cuanto al peso.
El diseño NAS3 combina un cuerpo de aleación de níquel resistente a la corrosión con una cabeza de acero inoxidable ultrarresistente. Según la compañía, el resultado es una vaina aproximadamente un 30 % más ligera que el latón tradicional, con una capacidad interna un 11 % mayor. Este volumen adicional permite una combustión más eficiente de la pólvora, lo que se traduce en velocidades más altas a presiones SAAMI estándar.

We’ve been following the US Army’s Next Generation Squad Weapons program here at TFB from the very beginning and we recently reported that the US Army had received the first batch of the new and improved version of the NGSW-Rifle - the XM8.The XM8 Carbine is a shorter and lighter variant of the M7 rifle and it looks set to supplant the longer weapon.The Pentagon's FY2027 budget request booklet outlines continued investment in the Generation Squad Weapons program but previously planned procurement of more M7s will now be replaced by the XM8.The US Army hasn't procured any M7 rifles in Federal FY2026 (which began on 1 October 2025).

- Desarrolla el fusil de infanteria mas potente jamas creado, diseñado para penetrar armadura personal a distancia
- Dale un poco de handicap limitando el cañon a 13"
- Añade peso al fusil con caracteristicas como una segunda palanca de recarga o una culata maciza
- Añade mas peso metiendole un enormemente gordo silenciador (Sigue siendo ruidoso)
- El fusil es mas grande y pesado que el M4, a pesar del cañon mas corto
- Tratas de usarlo como si fuera un M4. Descubres problemas.

- Decides que la solucion es reducir el cañon a 11", reduciendo asi la velocidad de salida del proyectil
