Just thought I'd say hi. I'm the guy from the ar15.com thread. I've been adjusting my google update filters and this thread popped up.
I worded the arfcom post poorly - we see 60-80% improvement in most people who are willing to work with the device. You can obviously fight it and see less. People who are seriously tuned into their wobble pattern often find that their grouping shifts in the direction where they come into the target, as this thing slows down the wobble pattern and affects timing.
Some people find it useful to settle sights in a CQB environment. It's also a lot of fun out of a helicopter.
The form factor was requested by the govt. The proof of concept device was a vertical foregrip, and I keep asking them to let us put it between the barrel nut and the handguard, but a modular device that attaches to a pic rail is a much easier sell.
Someone mentioned other things that you can do on a networked rifle with a power and data rail. Below is a picture of something from the last round of prototypes that just might be of interest.
