Two bids were solicited via the internet with two bids received. Work will be performed in Lynn, Massachusetts, with an estimated completion date of Aug. 1, 2024. Fiscal 2019 research, development, test and evaluation funds in the amount of $130,000,000 were obligated at the time of the award. The Army directive establishing the crossfunctional team pilots states that cross-functional teams should incorporate iterative experimentation and technical demonstrations to inform capability requirements. As an illustration of this practice, officials from the Future Vertical Lift cross-functional team told us that they will hold a “fly off” between two competitive prototypes of the Future Attack Reconnaissance Aircraft in fiscal year 2023 before choosing a design for follow-on testing and integration in fiscal year 2024.
