No tiene sentido ,todavía si se realizara el mantenimiento mayor en Matacán donde ya operan otros ocho aviones CN235 estaría justificado, el desplazamiento a otra base aérea que no sea una maestranza para revisiones mayores.

Pero sin Base Aérea no hay aeropuerto en la "capital" de CyL.

Puede ser aeródromo militar o como la 'base' de Málaga y largar a todo el personal de vuelo de alli, no tiene sentido como bien dices.

Respecto al avión, si a estas alturas se le cambia la pintura, esperaba un decapado total y pintura brillante resistente a la corrosión (blanco?) y no la gris táctica.

El pasivado o protección de contra la corrision es entre el verde y amarillo, dependiendo del pasivado, el blanco es la base antes de pintar aunque ofrece protección también, es mas protección "mecanica" (como tapaporos en la madera)

La gris táctica también la lleva el P3, sobre todo el 32, con lo que nos costo el diseño del cincuentenario

El 07 y 08 salieron con una pintura especial igual que la que se hizo para el P3, independientemente del esquema, es bastante mas cara.

El problema realmente es la vida remanente de esos aviones, si tenemos D5 para 2021/22, que no va a ser, los D4 aguantaran algo mas los P3 serán baja SI o SI a partir de finales de 2020, no tiene sentido hacer cierto tipo de actuaciones a futuro sobre unas plataformas que en ese plazo irán cursando baja, empezando por las mas antiguas y mas baqueteadas.

No olvidemos que son CN235 de la serie 100, actualizados a la serie 200 manu militari, y que andan como andan. Los VIGMA de SASEMAR y GC son de la serie 300, y ya solo en la avionica se parecen como un huevo a una castaña, ademas de estar mucho mejor protegidos contra la corrosion, ya desde fabrica, ademas de no haberse pasado media vida dando botes con el ala 35 por esos mundos de dios.

A Royal Australian Air Force P-8A Poseidon maritime surveillance aircraft arrived at the ADF’s main operating base in the Middle East on October 15 to join an international maritime security mission.

The Minister for Defence, Linda Reynolds, said the P-8A aircraft’s advanced surveillance and intelligence gathering capabilities provided a modest and meaningful contribution to maintaining the freedom of navigation and safe passage of merchant vessels through the Strait of Hormuz.

“The P-8A will work alongside our coalition partners to keep vital supplies for the international community flowing through the region,” Senator Reynolds said.

“Australia has a longstanding commitment to maritime security in the waters of the Middle East and continues to support the fundamental right of all states under international law to expect safe passage of their trade.”

The P-8A’s one-month deployment is part of a commitment that includes deployment of a Royal Australian Navy frigate from January 2020 and a small number of ADF personnel serving in the International Maritime Security Construct headquarters in Bahrain.

“This military contribution complements our longstanding commitment with allies and partners to anti-piracy and counter-terrorism in the Middle East,” Senator Reynolds said.

The ADF’s Air Task Group commander, Group Captain Mark Barry, said it was the first time a RAAF P-8A aircraft had operated in the Middle East.

“Not only will the aircraft be making an important contribution to regional peace and security, but we will also be able to test the P-8A aircraft and its crew in a number of challenging scenarios,” Group Captain Barry said.

The P-8A has advanced sensors and mission systems, including a state-of-the-art multi-role radar, high-definition cameras and an acoustic system with four times the processing capacity of the ageing AP-3C Orion aircraft that it supersedes.

“The Poseidon will make a welcome addition to the efforts of our coalition partners to boost regional security and help shipping pass through the Strait of Hormuz without interference,” Group Captain Barry said.

Los nuevos ATL2 ya están casi operativos.

The crew of the first refitted Atlantic 2 Maritime Patrol Aircraft (ATL2) today presented the new capabilities of the aircraft to the Minister of the Armed Forces during a 2-hour flight.

The Directorate General of Armament (DGA) this summer authorized the transfer of the first two ATL2 upgraded to the new Standard 6 to the naval base of Lann-Bihoué (Morbihan). This transfer marks the end of the development trials of the ATL2 modernization program.

In particular, to cope with the rise of the underwater threat in our areas of interest, the 2019-2025 military programming law extended the renovation program to 18 ATL2s compared to 15 as initially planned. The 18 refurbished aircraft will be delivered to the French Navy by 2024.

The ATL2 is a maritime patrol aircraft with a very large radius of action, primarily for the control of the air-sea environment through anti-submarine warfare and against surface ships, from the littoral zone to the open sea.

They can also provide support to air-land operations through their ability to conduct intelligence actions and ground strikes. The Navy currently operates 22 ATL2s, all based in Lann-Bihoué.

The ATL2 fleet modernization contract was awarded in late 2013 by the DGA, contracting authority to the manufacturers Dassault Aviation and Thales. It provides these aircraft with the equipment required to carry out their operational missions until they are withdrawn from service, scheduled for after 2030.

The upgrade to Standard 6 are carried out in parallel by Dassault Aviation (six upgrades, in addition to producing the prototype aircraft) and the Aeronautical Industry Service (SIAé) of the Ministry of the Armed Forces (11 work areas).

Beyond the treatment of obsolescence of an aircraft designed in the 1980s, the modernization focuses on the replacement of some equipment with state-of-the-art digital equipment: tactical computer, electro-optical sensors and acoustic systems, operator consoles and radar. In particular, the new Searchmaster radar benefits from the active antenna technology developed by Thales for the Rafale. Naval Group is also involved with the data processing software, as well as the SIAé for the modernization of the operator consoles.

The prototype and the first series aircraft arrived at Lann-Bihoué on July 18 and August 27 respectively in their final software version, have been thoroughly tested by an integrated team comprising the DGA Center of Expertise and Testing Flight Tests, the Navy’s naval aviation practical evaluation and reception service (CEPA / 10S) and Dassault Aviation.

The operational experimentation of the Navy, begun in Istres in parallel with the final test phases, continues in Lorient during the last contractual verifications carried out by the DGA for qualification. It aims to develop the tactics to best use the new capabilities of the aircraft.

The operational start-up of Standard 6 is scheduled for the end of 2021, after crew training, the conversion of a first batch of aircraft, and the delivery of the simulator on land for next-generation tactical training (SIMTAC NG). in progress under the leadership of the DGA.

To save integration cost RAF Poseidons will be armed with US-made Mk54 ASW torpedos instead of the Sting Ray in RN service.

To deliver torpedo from altitude the High Altitude Anti-submarine warfare Weapon Capability (HAAWC) glider kit has been developed

Poseidon processors/dispenser not fully compatible with UK sonobuoys, so US stocks will have to be acquired. The UK will have 2 parallel inventories of, sonobuoys & torpedos. But there may be some operational advantages of commonality with US equipment

Una vuelta de tuerca al concepto Sea Hércules. En éste caso sustituyen las bahías conformables de armamento por un sistema de lanzamiento de torpedos en la zona de la rampa de carga.

Sé que para muchos es impopular pero si podemos sacarle a los 5 C-130H, que vamos a retirar, 10/15 años más de vuelo, una transformación con éste kit MPA sería interesante.
