Los misiles llegarán almacenados en contenedores especiales (AUR) con capacidad para dos IRIST. Los AUR están preparados para almacenar los misiles durante siete años y medio sin necesidad de recibir un mantenimiento especial, únicamente serán necesarias inspecciones regulares del indicador de humedad incorporado y el cambio del paquete de secante del contenedor.
El equipo de test del IRIS-T, denominado FTE (Field Test Equipment) es una maleta de reducidas dimensiones que realizará el BIT (Built-In-Test) del misil indicando si está apto o no para el uso (GO/NO-GO). Esta prueba de primer escalón de mantenimiento se podrá realizar tanto en el AUR como en cualquier otro lugar en el que se encuentre el misil. Si como resultado del BIT el misil (OM o CATM) no estuviera operativo para el vuelo, se podrá desensamblar la sección que produce el fallo (segundo escalón de mantenimiento) y sustituirla por otra en buen estado de funcionamiento. No está previsto el mantenimiento de tercer escalón para el IRIS-T en el Ejército del Aire.

No sé si lo habéis comentado, pero los misiles tienen fecha de caducidad, y es variable dependiendo de las condiciones de almacenamiento.

This modification exercises an option to continue phase one design maturity, analysis and test planning for the Stand-off Land Attack Missile - Expanded Response (SLAM-ER) production line in support of the government of Saudi Arabia.
