Boeing dice en el Paris Air Show que quien quiera V-22 tendrá que comprarlos ya, porque se cierra la cadena:

Han sido 360 MV-22B para el USMC, 54 CV-22B para la USAF, 48 CMV-22B para la USNavy y 17 MV-22B para Japón. Destacable que el USArmy no adquirió ni uno. Boeing aún concede posibilidad de exportar hasta 50, pero reconoce que a día de hoy ha defraudado en ventas.

La versión CV-22 podrá apuntar su ametralladora ventral usando los visores de casco de los pilotos (HMD o CHMD).
Ese arma es la Defensive Weapon System (DWS) también llamada AN/AWG-35(V), que es un poder central con GAU-17 de 7.62 mm.

Foreign military sales funds in the amount of $9,066,270 will be obligated at time of award, none of which will expire at the end of the current fiscal year. The Naval Air Systems Command, Patuxent River, Maryland, is the contracting activity.

No funds will be obligated at the time of award. Funds will be obligated on individual orders as they are issued. This contract was not competitively procured pursuant to 10 U.S. Code 2304(c)(1). The contracting activity is the Defense Logistics Agency Aviation, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania (SPE4AX-20-D-9401).

Se quieren sustituir los 27 C-2A por 38 CMV-22B, comenzando las entregas el año que viene. Continuarán con un escuadrón en cada costa de EEUU. El primer despliegue en el Carl Vinson será en 2021, y la transición completa tendrá lugar entre 2024 y 2028. Por su parte, los Greyhound serán retirados completamente en 2026.
