- The structure of Air Defense Batteries depends on the assignated units. The basic air defence unit is typically a battery with 2 to 12 guns or missile launchers, fire control elements and support units. These batteries, particularly with guns, usually deploy in a small area, although batteries may be split; this is usual for some missile systems. SHORAD missile batteries often deploy across an area with individual launchers several kilometres apart. When MANPADS is operated by specialists part of an infantry unit, batteries may have several dozen teams deploying separately in small sections; self-propelled air defence guns may deploy in pairs. Batteries are usually grouped into battalions or equivalent. In the field army a Self-propelled gun or SHORAD battalions are often assigned to a Brigade size unit (BRB p.e.) or other Regiments (Cavalry, Mechanized Infantry, etc.)
Groupe d'Escadron à Cheval - GEC (Cavalry Squadron Group)

Infantry Brigades and Independent Battalions:
The organization of the Infantry Brigades and Battalions depends on it's mission. We can find different organizations according to the military zone where they're attached, their mission and their assignments. The different types of Infatry Brigades are:

- Bataillon d'Infanterie de Garnison - BIG (Garrison Infantry Brigade): Attached to military bases for it's protection.

- Bataillon Leger d'Intervention Rapide - BLIR (Quick Respons Battalion): Quick and direct action for any event as primary task.
- Bataillon des Skieurs - BS (Skiers Battalion): Specialized in fighting in mountainous and arctic conditions.
Light infantry Brigades are usually organized in 2-5 Infantry battalions with attached anti-tank companies armed with ATGMs missiles, recon troops, batteries of towed artillery. The brigade will also have a support battalion and special forces units for CS (Combat Support). These 2 battalions will possess support units such as signal, intelligence, military police, combat engineers, transportation, quartermaster (supply), maintenance, and medical.
Light infantry Battalions consists of two or more companies plus a combat support company, with a scout platoon, mortar platoon, along with other elements that varies between organizations.
Units from Light Infatry Battalions may be attached to Mechanized Infantry and Armor when deployed as Combat Brigades known as Tactic Intervention Groups (GTI) and Royal Armored Brigade (BRB). During the Sahara War, Divisions were created, but actually there is no such configuration. The exact number of Brigades and Regiments is Secret.
